Hey Nathan, would you like to introduce yourself and SpiderDAO for those who might not be familiar with it?

Hi, my name is Nathan, and I’m the CEO at SpiderDAO. I am an experienced entrepreneur with a background in IoT Development and Operations. I have been successfully leading SpiderVPN since its inception in 2017, growing the business to over 7000 users across 30+ countries. I have been running non-blockchain companies since the age of 17, leading to over 20 Years plus experience in business Ops. I have been involved in crypto since 2014, I was involved in some bitcoin mining then I moved over to do some Ethereum mining in 2016 the funds I made doing this mining helped to start SpiderVPN Project, so without crypto I would not be here today.

Besides being necessary for voting, what other use will the SpiderDAO Router have? Will I be able to use it instead of my conventional router? Will my data be safe when using this form of connection?

This is a 3 part question so let me break it down for you……
Part 1. The SpiderRouter comes with many different use cases, some are already developed and some are a work in progress. Here is a list of our upcoming developments: Hardware crypto Wallet , Decentralized ID, World Class dVPN, Metaverse Protection AID, Hardware DAO Voting & Bandwidth Monetisation.
Part2 . All SpiderRouters can be used as direct replacements for your existing ISP routers, or can also be used as an additional Network to supplement your existing ISP Router.
Part 3. Your data will be absolutely safe. Our form of connection uses a military grade VPN protocol named Wireguard which has little compromise on your connection and adds an additional layer of security.

Alright despite the fact that the first question had three parts here is the second question:
There are many VPNs that are available and work fine in the current market, why is the decentralized VPN SpiderDao platform better than centralized?
Nathan Varty
Centralized data is always vulnerable since by definition it is held in one (central) location and can present an attraction to hackers and bad actors. Once data is decentralized it is by its nature almost impossible to target since it is spread over many data points. One of the most important jobs of a VPN provider is to keep its user data off the network, by decentralizing that data that job is instantly achieved. In addition to decentralization, Data is also encrypted whilst in transit. Together these 2 measures make data all but impossible to target and exploit.
We are now entering an era where the internet is increasingly evolving in the form of WEB 3.0, new Metaverses and Crypto Currencies. With this in mind we believe that cyber security is going to become more and more important and our primary focus will be to bring better security solutions to the market that will keep our ever growing community safe. One of the biggest challenges is going to define how people participate in Metaverse and we will be unveiling our solutions very shortly. How does SpiderDAO combine hardware and software tools with elements on the chain to prepare a “durable” governance solution and integrate the governance model into the DAO concept?

We have a hardware based DAO solution that is governed by the community, this helps to create a self improving environment that also builds a suite of security tools. This suite of security tools helps build a safe and secure ecosystem for the wider Crypto community and this, in turn, improves their online experience.
We have already distributed over 7000 units worldwide securing not only our own project but partnering with many others such as PETS to help keep you guys safe and secure while online. We also have many other initiatives coming this Quarter that will really help support the wider community.

Question number four:
What’s your motivation in making a $SPDR Token? Why do you need a token for VPN service? How can token holders benefit with $SPDR tokens?
Nathan Varty
Again I will break this into 3 parts……..
Part 1 — Our primary motivation is about protecting users’ privacy while they browse the internet. Our Token is primarily a utility token that will facilitate all sorts of existing and future features that help users get paid for example selling your bandwidth, staking your tokens and giving the wider crypto community a democratic say in how the ecosystem grows and matures.
Part 2- Token holders are part of both a growing community and a growing successful VPN business with a real world use case. We are constantly building the VPN service with new innovation and as the business grows. Token holders benefit from these developments by creating more demand with the fixed supply.
Part 3 — The token also helps motivate our development team which in turn enables the evolution of the network, future development decisions and the subsequent value creation to be distributed fairly amongst a wide range of users instead of being manipulated by a well-resourced, centralized party.

The final question for this round: How will the SpiderConnect router ensure that stacking of hardware devices is instantly detected by the network, and how can it get additional security by voting to maximize security?

This a tough one ….. 🙂
We are aware that whales/bots can buy more routers using new wallets to try and affect the governance model, but that will come at a heavy cost.
We will be keeping a log of every MAC Address and serial number for every router we add to our inventory.
If we identify any clone or anyone trying to spoof/manipulate the hardware or essential data that is not matched to the inventory or we find dubious actors trying to spoof or manipulate access, the hardware will be blocked from the network and a lifetime ban imposed.

Great stuff! Next to these questions there were of course many questions regarding the utilities of the SpiderDAO PolkaPet and the future plans regarding this. Do you have any plans for this?

At the moment Early access to all features on the DAO development and Testnets of the Spider dVPN Services. In addition we will be releasing a new piece of hardware very soon, once ready we would like to invite all SpiderDAO PolkaPet Holders to participate in the latest round of early access and testing! This will be an exclusive piece of hardware that will be a complete game changer for all the involved communities. To gain access the PolkaPet team will share a form in the coming days!

We have set a pretty high standard in our Road Map for 2022, this will be achieving the bandwidth monetisation and Decentralised VPN access, we aim for 200k Users worldwide! The upcoming update will be our biggest yet however I can’t reveal this just now. again keep an eye on our announcement channel.

Yes, we are currently serving 30+ Countries, but we have a very ambitious plan this year to grow this out with massive expansion, the new hardware will help us achieve this and will be a world’s 1st! We started in 2017 and now have all the infrastructure in place to go BIG or GO home, so we choose to GO BIG and NOT HOME :))
